Evo was born from a six-week research project at Swaner Nature Preserve located in Park City, Utah. Through an in-depth look at beavers and their impact on natural wetland areas, our sustainable design class gained a greater understanding of feedback loops and the severity of the drought Utah is facing.

In our Sustainable Design class, we discussed critical systems thinking and how, as designers, we can cultivate more than just the ability to organize information. Studying biodiversity and environmental issues brought new meaning and purpose to problem-solving skills, and we focused on utilizing design to address the climate crisis.
After extensive field research and documentation of the wetlands ecosystem, we were tasked with creating a product or event that could raise awareness about the preserve and local environmental issues.
Evo is a collectable trading card series that excites and educates potential customers about native Utah wildlife. Many of the animals featured in the card packs can be seen on the preserve. Evo packs give buyers a tangible, tactile experience with nature without endangering wildlife.
